Magpie Embroidery is Kait Batts. Raised in the DFW area, she resides and creates out of Fort Worth, TX where she also works as a clinical social worker specializing in trauma.

Kait's work ranges from simple embroidery in small hoops, to large needle-paintings. Often she creates large scale abstract work with reclaimed, recycles, or repurposed fibers. Kait's passion for embroidery began in 2016 and has evolved over the years in to a love of finding new ways to create that will keep textiles out of landfills and find eco-friendly ways to create art. This extends to her mission to renew old clothing by adding stitching, mending, or tailoring practices to give life to clothing that would otherwise be overlooked. In this way, Magpie Embroidery is all about slow fashion, slow work, and attention to detail.
